How to Share Your Faith Without Being Weird About It
You believe it. You just freeze when it is time to say it out loud. This message takes the pressure off by starting with something you already own and have never once thought of as a spiritual asset: your feet.
How to Share Your Faith When You Freeze Up
Almost nobody freezes because they do not believe it. They freeze because the word evangelism arrives with a stack of questions attached. What do I say. Who am I supposed to say it to. What if they ask something I cannot answer. What if this costs me the friendship. So the moment passes, and it keeps passing, and eventually staying quiet starts to feel normal. This message removes the overthinking by narrowing the whole assignment down to two things you already have.
Acts 1:8 is where Jesus says it: you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. The word for witnesses is martyres, the root behind our word martyr, and it means an eyewitness. Not an attorney. Not an expert. Someone reporting what they personally saw. Nobody is asking you to win the argument or know the law. You are answering one question: what did you see. Notice the order too. Power first, then witness. Paul himself asked a church to pray that words would be given to him so he could open his mouth boldly, and that is Paul, in Ephesians 6:19-20.
The message works through two things your feet do. First, they take you somewhere and point you at someone. Roughly a quarter of the bones in your body are in your feet, 26 bones and 33 joints in each one, and where they carry you every week is your mission field. Not a country you have to fly to. The gym you already go to three times a week. The break room. The Wednesday hallway between classes. Second, your feet hold up a testimony. Whatever your life used to be and whatever changed, that transformed life is standing in front of somebody. That is the review, and reviews land differently than advertisements.
So the instruction is smaller than you feared and harder than you want: walk across the room and say something. Not a speech. Four sentences will do it. What life was like before Jesus, how you met him, what he changed, what it is like now. Say it plainly and let go of the outcome, because you are not in control of how it lands and you were never supposed to be. Some people take years. Some are ready today and you will miss them if you assume everyone takes years. Look Down
Acts 1:8
Your mission field is not assigned by a destination. It is assigned by presence. Jesus lists Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth, and most of the people hearing him never made it past the first one. Wherever your feet actually take you this week is the field. Name three places you will physically stand before Sunday. That is the list.
Prayer
Jesus, open my eyes to the field I am already standing in.
Eyewitness, Not Attorney
Acts 1:8
The Greek word is martyres, an eyewitness. An eyewitness is not asked to argue the case or know the statutes. They are asked one question: what did you see. You did not watch Jesus walk out of the tomb, but you have watched him do something in you. That is admissible. That is the testimony.
Prayer
Lord, remind me today of one thing you have actually done in me.
Power First, Then Witness
Acts 1:8
Read the order carefully. You will receive power, and then you will be my witnesses. The power is not a reward for being brave. It comes first. Lose your big toe and you have to learn how to walk again, because something underneath was doing more work than you noticed. That is the Spirit in this. You are not carrying this on articulation.

Holy Spirit, go ahead of me today and do what I cannot.
Even Paul Asked for Words
Ephesians 6:19-20
Paul wrote a third of the New Testament from a prison cell and still asked a church to pray that words would be given to him so he could open his mouth boldly. If Paul needed that, your blank mind is not disqualifying. It is normal. If you do not know what to say, pray. Text somebody and ask them to pray. That is the move, not silence.

Father, give me the words, and give me the nerve to use them.
Walk Across the Room
Romans 10:14-15
Romans asks how anyone will hear without someone telling them, and there is no third option in that verse. The most courageous thing Jesus is asking of you on Monday is probably not moving overseas. It is walking across the room to the person you know is struggling and saying you are here, and that Jesus changed your life. Who is that person. Say the name out loud.

God, give me one room to cross this week and the courage to cross it.
Bold Is Not Loud
Acts 4:29
Boldness is not volume and it is not confrontation. You could say it perfectly and gently and it would still offend, because the message itself says you cannot save yourself. Boldness is the willingness to say a true thing you can no longer take back and cannot manage the landing of. If you knew it would work every time, you would never be afraid. So the fear was never about the words. It was about trusting God with what happens after.

Lord, I will say it. You handle what happens next.
Not Personal, Not On You
1 Corinthians 3:6-7
Paul planted, Apollos watered, God gave the growth. Three jobs, and you were never assigned all three. If someone brushes you off, that is not a verdict on you and it is not yours to carry home. Jesus said no one comes to him unless the Father draws them. Your job is at-bats. One bad try is not proof you are ineffective. It is proof you are in a real battle.

God, take the weight of the outcome off me. I will keep swinging.

- Where do your feet physically take you every week? List the places. Which one has been a mission field this whole time without you noticing?
- What is the real reason you freeze: not knowing what to say, or fear of what it will cost you? Be specific about which one.
- Write out four sentences: life before Jesus, how you met him, what he changed, what it is like now. Read them out loud. That is your testimony.
- Who is one person you will pass this week that you could pray for by name starting today?
- Acts 1:8 puts power before witness. Where have you been trying to be brave on your own strength instead of asking for help first?
- Have you tried once, gotten burned, and quietly quit? What would getting back in look like this month?
- Is there someone you have assumed needs years of groundwork who might actually be ready now?
