FAQs

What is a small group at Valor Church?
A small group is a circle of 8 to 12 people who meet regularly in someone’s home to study Scripture, build real relationships, and do life together. It is one of the primary ways we make disciples at Valor. Sunday gets you the sermon. Small group gets you the community.

How do I join a small group at Valor?
Fill out a connect card on Sunday or visit valor.church/groups and let us know you are looking for a group. We will match you based on your neighborhood, stage of life, and schedule. Groups are currently meeting across northwest Arvada, including Candelas, Leyden Ranch, and Whisper Creek, as well as Westminster and Wheat Ridge.

Are small groups open to visitors?
Yes. You do not have to be a member or even a regular attender to join a small group. If you are exploring Valor and want to get connected to real people before you commit to anything, a small group is a great first step.
How big are small groups at Valor? We keep groups at 8 to 12 people intentionally. Big enough for real discussion. Small enough that you actually know everyone in the room.

What is the difference between a small group and a Bible study at Valor?
Small groups focus on community and life together around Scripture. Bible studies at Valor go deeper into a specific book of the Bible over a season, studied chapter by chapter. Both are valuable. They are designed to complement each other, not compete.

Does Valor have women’s Bible study?
Yes. Valor offers gender-specific Bible studies for women that go through a book of the Bible together over a three-month season. Contact us at valor.church/groups to find out what is currently meeting.

Does Valor have men’s Bible study?
Yes. Men’s Bible study at Valor follows the same format: one book, studied carefully, over a season. It is not a lecture. It is a conversation. Contact us at valor.church/groups for current groups.

What does Valor study in Bible study?
We study the Bible book by book. We pick a book, work through it passage by passage over roughly three months, and let the text drive the conversation. No curriculum. No felt boards. Just Scripture.

What is a Huddle at Valor Church?
A Huddle is a small, tight-knit accountability group of 3 to 5 people, usually gender-specific, who meet regularly for honest conversation, mutual challenge, and spiritual growth. Think of it as the most direct version of discipleship Valor offers. Less content, more accountability.

How is a Huddle different from a small group?
A small group is broader: community, Scripture, shared life. A Huddle is narrower: a few people who know each other well enough to ask the hard questions and tell each other the truth. Both matter. They serve different purposes.

Are Huddles gender-specific?
Yes. Huddles are gender-specific by design. The level of honesty and accountability that makes a Huddle work requires a level of trust that is easier to build in a same-gender context.
