Walking into a new church can feel awkward. You do not know where to park, where your kids go, or whether someone is going to single you out. Here is what to expect before you ever pull in.

Parking is easy and close to the building. Enter the one-way driveway from W 84th Ave at the west end of the property, then park in any open space near the front. Wide parallel parking spaces are also available along W 84th Ave. Look for the large white Valor pop-up tent marking the entrance. We'll be there to welcome you and help you find your way.
Plan to arrive about 15 minutes early. That gives you time to meet our team, grab a coffee, and get familiar with the space before the service begins. If you'd like to check your children into Valor Kids, arriving 15 to 20 minutes early gives your family a little extra time.
The whole morning, start to finish.
A typical service lasts about 75 minutes. We sing Christ-centered songs, greet one another, and pray together. Prayer is one of Valor's core commitments, not something we add to fill time.
The sermon lasts about 35 to 40 minutes and comes directly from the Bible. We close with a response song, and people are available afterward to pray with anyone who needs it.

For your first visit, join us at 10:30a. Full Valor Kids programming is available from birth through 5th grade.
At 8:30a, care is available for infants and toddlers through 23 months. Kids check-in is optional, and children are always welcome with you in worship.

Justin McKay is Valor's Lead Pastor. Lacy McKay leads Valor Kids as our Kids Coordinator. Justin is around before and after both services most Sundays, and he would rather meet you in the hallway than have you slip out unnoticed.
We're not trying to be the biggest church in Arvada. We're trying to be the most faithful one.

Where do I go once I am inside?
Valor Kids check-in is about 15 yards ahead on the left, marked by a large Valor Kids sign.
To reach the worship room, turn right at the kids area, then take a quick left into the main hallway and follow the signs. The hallway is long, so keep going. At the end, the bathrooms are on the left. The worship room is about 10 yards farther down on the left.
Is the building wheelchair accessible?
All entrances are step-free and wheelchair accessible. Because we meet at Excel Academy, accessibility is built into the facility.
Why does Valor meet in a school?
Valor currently meets at Excel Academy, and we are actively pursuing a permanent building in northwest Arvada. The church is the people, not the building.
Valor Kids
How does Valor Kids check-in and pickup work?
Someone will be at the Valor Kids station to help you check in. You and your child will receive matching stickers. Keep your sticker with you and bring it back after the service for secure pickup.
How do you keep children safe?
We take the trust you place in us seriously. Every Valor Kids volunteer is background checked, screened, and trained in child protection, including recognizing predatory behavior and other safety concerns, following proper diaper-changing procedures, and maintaining safe classroom practices.
Classrooms are staffed so a child is never alone with a single adult, and an additional volunteer helps monitor bathroom breaks. Shortly after the service begins, the entrance doors are secured, while the school's built-in locking system keeps perimeter doors locked. Arvada Police Department personnel are also on site as an added layer of security.
What if my child has an allergy, disability, or other need?
Please tell Lacy, our Valor Kids Coordinator, when you check in. Let her know about any allergies, disabilities, medical needs, or other accommodations your child may need.
Can my children worship with me?
Absolutely. Children are always welcome in the main worship service with their parents.
- 8:30a: Valor Kids care is available for infants and toddlers through 23 months. Older children worship with their parents.
- 10:30a: Full Valor Kids programming is available from birth through 5th grade.
When a month has a fifth Sunday, children age 5 and older intentionally join the main service with their families.
What to expect
Will I be singled out as a guest?
No. We offer a general welcome, but we will not point you out publicly. We do make an effort to learn names, and Pastor Justin or someone else from Valor will likely come say hello.
You will receive a bulletin with an optional connect card. If you turn it in, we will follow up to thank you for coming. You can also use it to share a prayer request or ask about groups and serving.
We believe you being here is no accident. The card is simply one way to let us begin getting to know you.
What should I know about Communion?
We take Communion every other week. Anyone who has professed faith in Christ is welcome to participate. If you are visiting, there is no pressure to take part.
What should I wear?
Dress is casual, and you'll see a little of everything. This is Colorado, so wear what feels natural to you.
How loud is the music?
We keep the music at safe levels. If the sound feels like too much, you're welcome to stand near the back or step into the coffee area at any time.
