Unceasing Prayer is at the Heart of Valor Church.

Pray without ceasing. (1 Thess. 5:17)

Prayer isn’t the warm-up act at Valor. It’s not the two minutes before the sermon or the polite send-off before the parking lot. It’s a pillar. It’s how we believe God moves.

James 5:16 says the prayer of a righteous person has great power as it’s working. We take that seriously in northwest Arvada, where busy families and full calendars make it easy to drift right past the one thing that actually changes things. Talking about prayer is easy. Praying is the work.

So once a month, on the first Tuesday, we gather for corporate prayer. Not a service with a prayer tucked in the middle. A full night for prayer, public reading of Scripture, worship, and asking God to move.

Jesus said God’s house is meant to be a house of prayer (Matthew 21:13). That’s the church we’re striving to build here in Arvada.

If you’ve never been to a prayer night, start here. You don’t need the right words. You don’t need a plan. Just come. First Tuesday of the month. Pray with us.

Unceasing Prayer is a core pillar at Valor.

We don’t treat prayer as an add-on, it’s the lifeline that fuels everything we do. Come experience it for yourself and see how it builds bold, resilient faith that strengthens you and your family all week long.

FAQs

What is a corporate prayer night?
A corporate prayer night is when the whole church gathers specifically to pray together. It is not a regular Sunday service. At Valor, our prayer nights include worship, Scripture reading, and extended time in intercession as a community. It is one of the most powerful things we do together.

When is prayer night at Valor Church in Arvada?
Valor’s corporate prayer night meets every first Tuesday of the month. It is open to everyone. Check valor.church for the next date and time.

Where does prayer night meet?
Valor Church meets at Excel Academy, 11500 W 84th Ave, Arvada, CO. Prayer night is held at the same location as our Sunday services.

Is prayer night open to first-time visitors?
Yes. You do not have to be a member or a regular attender. If you want to pray with a church that takes it seriously, you are welcome. No script required. Just show up.

Does Valor Church believe in the power of prayer?
Yes, without hesitation. James 5:16 says the prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. Prayer is not a formality at Valor. It is one of our four core pillars and a defining conviction of who we are as a church.

What happens at a Valor prayer night?
We gather for worship, read Scripture together, and spend extended time in intercession. It is not a service with a prayer tucked in at the end. The whole night is built around seeking God together. You do not need to know what to say to be there.

How long does prayer night last?
Valor’s prayer nights typically run about 60 to 90 minutes. Come when you can, stay as long as you are able.

I have never been to a prayer service before. Is this for me?
Yes. Most people who come to their first prayer night feel that way. You do not need experience or the right words. You just need to show up. Valor’s prayer nights are built for people who are new to corporate prayer and people who have been doing it for decades.

Is Valor Church in Arvada known for prayer?
Prayer is one of Valor’s four core pillars, not a footnote. We believe a church that does not pray is a church that is drifting. Corporate prayer every first Tuesday of the month is one of the ways we keep that from happening.

What does the Bible say about corporate prayer?
Jesus said his house would be called a house of prayer (Matthew 21:13). James tells us that the prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working (James 5:16). Paul commands us to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). We take all three seriously at Valor.
