If you're new here

We took the guesswork out of it.

Walking into a new church is awkward. We know that. You don't know where to park, where your kids go, or whether someone is going to single you out. So let us take the guesswork out of it before you ever pull in.

Valor exists for people done drifting. Families who want their kids raised on more than good intentions. Anyone tired of a church that asks little and expects less. If that's you, you already belong in the room.

What a Sunday actually looks like

The whole morning, start to finish. No surprises.

You show up. We're ready.

A friendly face is waiting at the door. Not a clipboard and a name tag. Someone who actually wanted to be there to meet you.

Worship. Prayer. Preaching.

We sing like we mean it, pray like it matters, and open the Bible and preach it straight. About 75 minutes. Come as you are.

Valor Kids has your kids.

Safe, staffed, and built for birth through 5th grade. Check-in opens at 9:45, fifteen minutes before service.

Stay or go.

Grab coffee and stick around, or head out when service ends. No pressure either way. When you're ready for more, we'll be here.

Who'll be preaching

A pastor you can actually talk to.

I'm Justin McKay. My wife Lacy and I moved to Colorado in 2020, convinced God was calling us to plant a church here. I preach verse by verse through books of the Bible, and Lacy is on staff and in the middle of everything we do. You'll enjoy meeting her.

We are not trying to be the biggest church in Arvada. We're trying to be the most faithful one, and that means real intentionality behind our growth. I make it a point to be available before and after service. You might even catch me at the front door, greeting people on their way in.

We're growing. Getting lost in the crowd was never part of the plan.

Who we are

A biblical, elder-led church that preaches the whole Bible.

Valor is an autonomous, elder-led church in Arvada, Colorado, rooted in historic biblical doctrine and the Baptist Faith and Message. We preach expository, verse by verse through books of the Bible, and we don't skip the hard parts. We're theologically aligned with Send Network and Vintage Mission, church-planting networks focused on planting churches in regions where churches are few.

What we believe

Ready to visit?

We'd love to see you Sunday.

People are driving in from Candelas, Five Parks, Leyden Ranch, Whisper Creek, and across Westminster, Broomfield, and Wheat Ridge. A church that actually preaches the Bible, feels like family, and invests in your kids is worth the drive.

Common questions

Questions people actually ask.

What should I wear to Valor Church?

Whatever you're comfortable in. You'll see everything from jeans to dress shirts on a Sunday morning. We care far more about you being in the room than what you wore to get there.

What is the Sunday service like at Valor?

Genuine corporate worship, expository verse-by-verse preaching straight from the Bible, and a room full of real people who aren't pretending. We're a church plant, still growing, but the substance is there from day one. A typical service runs about 75 to 90 minutes, and we don't rush it.

Is Valor a good fit for families with kids?

Yes. We're intentionally built for families. Valor Kids is a full ministry for children birth through 5th grade, and Valor Youth meets for 6th through 12th grade on Wednesday nights. The Sunday sermon is designed to give parents something to bring home and talk about.

What can I expect on my first Sunday?

You'll walk in, be greeted by someone on the welcome team, and find a seat. Worship starts at 10am. Starting August 30, we move to two services at 8:30am and 10:30am. After the service, the best next step is filling out a connect card so we know you were here, and so someone follows up.

Is Valor near Candelas or Five Parks in Arvada?

Yes. Excel Academy, where Valor meets, is in the northwest Arvada corridor that serves the Candelas, Five Parks, Leyden Ranch, and Whisper Creek neighborhoods. People also drive in from Westminster, Broomfield, Wheat Ridge, and Superior.

Is Valor a mobile church?

Yes. Valor currently meets at Excel Academy in northwest Arvada, and we're working toward permanent land in the Candelas area. Being mobile hasn't slowed us down. The church is the people, not the building.
